He'll be ok as a squad player IMO, someone on here said his discipline wasn't as bad as we think. Something like five red cards in the premier league, don't know how accurate that info was. As with Bellers and Pennant will get my support until he seriously crosses the line like diouf did.

6 red cards for Blackburn in all competitions.

Gerrard has had 5 and thrown in some horror challenges so I don't think that stat proves anything.

imo he is better cover for finnan than kk and has the odded option of being versatile.

In the last five seasons he has always been amongst the top 5 or 10 players with most disciplinary points.

Doesn't mean he's not a decent player though.

Me Neither. We'll have to trust Rafa on this one.

A Good deal at the reported 2 Million though.

That's my point, i don't think that's all that many considering the team and managers he has played under at Blackburn. Some managers have a way of stirring players up, if you know what i mean.

I think the competition will be great for Finnan...

To be fair the lad will hardly ever get a game. He'll be 2nd choice right back and that is the best he'll do - occasional cover for Finnan, a la Josemi.

He's never gonna play left back.

He'll hardly ever play centre back as he's at least 4th choice behind Carra, Sami and Agger, and I'm sure Paletta would have something to say about that too.

Seems a strange one to me. He's not an attacking, rampaging right back in the mould that Rafa normally likes ('laterals') so even as 2nd choice right back I can hardly see the bloke fitting in.

I reckon we'll pack him off to Sevilla (or somewhere else) when we finally find the funds to buy Alves. He'll be another Josemi/Kromkamp type; a short term buy IMO.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think he will be a good signing. Rafa will make best use of him.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

The only reason we are interested in him is so he does not maim one of our players the new time we play Blackburn.

I think he will be cover for both Carra and Finnan, someone said he had a good wc as centre back. Perhaps Palleta isn't ready for the english game yet the way Agger wasn't last season.

I think the competition will be greater for Riise too. Neill is very good on both flanks. He'll provide great cover for Finnan and he'll be pushing really hard for JAR's place at left back I reckon.

Neill can be a bit rash at times in the box (eg his near penalty vs Chelsea the other day) but that is my only doubt against him as a footballer. I'm sure Rafa wouldn't be interested in Neill if he thought his thuggishness was too much to deal with.

I for one really hope the deal goes through and Blackburn agree to the bid.
