I still believe Rafa doesn't truly rate Finnan so Neill may be coming in as more than cover.

Josemi wasn't meant to be cover and Alves, if the reports are to be believed, was coming in to play right back.

I reckon that Rafa does rate Finnan! Although he didn't when he first came to Anfield.

If Rafa doesn't rate Finnan by now then he hasn't got a breeze!

Finnan has been one of if not our most consistent performer since Rafa took over.

Maybe Rafa is looking at replacing him in the long term as he's 31/32,or maybe Rafa wants someone a bit more attack minded, but to say he doesn't rate him is bollox,IMO.

In fairness Finnan does his fair share of overlapping on the right side and gets crosses in too.

finnan is one of our most relaible players. he rarely makes a mistake. and he had one of the highest points score on fantasy premierleague for a defender which imo makes him class
              In Rafa I have faith

I'd still like to sign Alves though!

Not a big fan of Neill, but it's Blackburn I feel sorry for...

I still think its Rafa trying to fill a gap with a player who will provide good business in the Sort Term and next summer the RB position will be one of those that will be strengthened.

Great thing is that he provides good quality cover in all defensive positions, invaluable in a situation when you get injuries, especially during a game.

I think he's a good signing. Good defender, versatile, better in the air than Finnan and better everywhere than Kromkamp.

                        I don't like him though.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Hope he rots in the reserves

He's already chalked up a red this season

What's with comparing him to Gerrard - his reds came mostly at the beginning of his career while Neill seems to be getting worse.

I really dislike this guy Like it's been said he'll hardly get a game.

The main drawback is frequent cuntery on the pitch though.[/QUOTE]

Oh well at least he's got bellamy to keep him company

I really don't care if he comes, Haven't really seen enough of him to make a call on him.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
