I know Stevie is always the winner of everything that runs on .tv, but I really do think he's going to have a blinder of a season. I think Alonso will as well.

Not sure if Torres will get us 20 goals but he hits 15-18 and a few assists then I'll be happy. Kuyt & Crouch will probably hit 15 league goals each (maybe a few less in Crouch's case, as he'll probably be third choice striker, sadly).

Other predictions - Carra will be solid, Finnan still won't make 'Team of the year' on Sky Sports despite playing every game, scoring 10 goals and making 25 assists.

Voronin will prove to be a decent freebee. Reina will keep 20 clean sheets. Riise will still get **** of fans for being not good enough etc. Kewell will miss most of the season. Pennant, Babel & Benayoun will split fans into the ''is he or is he not good enough'' debates.

Paletta will be ****e when he gets his 2 games a season in the League Cup.

I can't wait for the new season now - we've got a damn good squad, the players are refreshed and we haven't got the 5 most difficult games of the season to start off with (like last year - Mancs, Chavs, Bolton, Everton etc away).

Based on added pressure and knowing he has to raise his game and perform like he did the first two seasons. Rafa's said Gerrard will play more in the centre. Mascherano is obviously class and Momo has done very well pre-season.

Ok, Alonso hasn't set the world alight in pre-season but he's had a couple of good games at the start of it - and he was really no worse than anyone against Pompey & Feyenoord. Plus he's not coming off the back of a 60 game season + a World Cup like last year.
