I think this is the major problem we have. Anyone who is good enough to be a reserve at PL level (eg Carson) wants regular first team football, the youngsters we're bringning in are happy to be reserves but are not good enough to risk in the Premier League.Originally posted by dww View PostI kind of agree but I just think this move makes sense for both parties. The worst thing for all this season was to have Carson spend most of the season on the bench and not develop.
The contention I was disagreeing with was that this loan in some way would devalue him in the future. I think it will increase his value either as a squad player if both parties are happy with that or as a saleable asset. Which ever way it goes this seems like a good move for us.
It will be interesting to see if we bring in another keeper and if so what age they are. We seem to have a plethora of young keepers but none of them look like they would be ready to be a reserve at PL level yet.
It's a shame as I have no doubts that Carson is more than adequate cover for Pepe, but we can't give him games just for the sake of passifying him as he is inferior to Reina.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

carson is a good shot stopper, but i doubt he will ever become a commanding keeper and be good enough for liverpoool on a regular basisOriginally posted by Dhavlos View PostI think this is the major problem we have. I tend to agree, and unless he radically improves I certainly wouldn't want him ahead of Pepe, or generally playing on anything like a regular basis. But I do think he is the required quality for a stand-in. Can't really say the same for any of the other keepers already at the club unfortuantely.Originally posted by red g View Postcarson is a good shot stopper, but i doubt he will ever become a commanding keeper and be good enough for liverpoool on a regular basisWhite liquid in a bottle = Milk

Absolutely none whatsoever, he cant play against us due to premiership rules
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"
Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"
Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
