I Like this thread and have made a point of telling my villa supporting colleague that we will beat them at least 3-0 every morning as I've left work this week. With Stuart Taylor in goals you might not even have to have 3 good chances for that scoreline.

Pepe will also keep 20+ clean sheets this year as well.

This season our combined total of goals, clean sheets, games won and Aurelio blasting the ball out of play in favour of 5 yard passes; will be a greater number than Duncan Oldham has had hot dinners.

Right then, a new season is almost upon us and the excitement is growing. By how many goals are we going to destroy Villa on Saturday?

I am very optimistic for the following reasons

We have signed Torres, he will be our first striker since Owen to strike fear into the hearts of opposing defences.

There is no better keeper in the Prem than Pepe

Stevie will play more in the CM and score 10+ league goals

For me Benni is a better Prem player than Lil Luis

Torres and Voronin or Bellamy and GOD , I know which I think will produce more goals.

Best back 5 in the League (might even improve with a better LB)

Mascher will be more settled/ Momo will be injury free and make another step up, so we have the best CB combo in the country.

Babel/Leto/Leiva/Kewell better than Zenden/Cisse/Le Tallec/ yeah I know they were out on loan but I am enjoying myself here

Pennant was gash for 4/5 months last year but then steadily improved. I don't believe he will be a world beater but he will be a solid,consistent squad player.

Dirk Kuyt scored 13 league goals in his first season here, while watching his father suffer terrible illness. How many more will he score now that he is fully acclimatised and hopefully in a happier frame of mind.

We have Peter Crouch , 2nd top scorer in the CL (I think) behind only Kaka

Last Jan we bought Mascher, the Jan before that we bought Agger, next Jan I predict another great signing by Rafa.

We have Rafa He WILL take us to #19 this season

16 hours and the moment of truth will have arrived

As long as Rafa picks his best available team and doesnt try to keep the whole squad happy we will have a truly great season.

Rafa's statements and actions do give great cause for optimism especially when saying stevie G will play more games centerally as we have more wingers now, this could leave 4 CM players fighting for one place but we could well play 4-3-3 quite a lot as well and if we do that there'll be 3 strikers not getting a look in.
