I'd like to see Seville's president abducted by aliens for not lowering Alves fee.

Alves would be the one realistic signing that I'd like to see happen.

I'd still like to sign some midfield cover though to replace Didi. I am still not convinced about Zenden.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

                  Tevez, Aguero and Messi
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously Alves would be the number one choice - but it seems unlikely.

I wouldn't mind Cicinho on loan till January, when hopefully we will have/can raise the funds for Alves. Apparently he's out of favour with Cappello and on a six month loan he could be a decent acquisition. Obviously you'd never play him against Robben, for example, but, at Anfield against teams that are not so great on the left, he could be good at helping to break teams down and giving Finnan a rest. And he'd be good in the wing-back role if Rafa fancied playing 3-5-2.

He can also fill in at RM pretty well if needed, freeing Gerrard while also resting Pennant, and his attacking style from RB is fairly similar to Alves' - although not as good. A bit of work on his positional sense and he'd be decent till January. Wages might be a problem, but, seeing as Real are reportedly paying the lions share of Woodgate's wages, perhaps they'd be prepared to do the same with Cicinho.

But I wouldn't want him signed permanently, even for the reported £5.5 million. Alves must be our future on the right.
