    Crouchies Role this season?

No sign of big Pete at the villa, maybe he will play in France.

I wonder how big his role will be this season, will he be 4th choice behind Voronin.

Hope rafa chases form, if torres and dirk don't score in a 5 games or so then Crouch should be given a chance.

With injuries you would expect him to play the next few games for England so at least he will get some games.

We need to give him a decent run, important to keep big Pete IMO.

Given that Yossi, Crouch and Masher were either on the bench or not in the squad for Villa i think it's fair to say that they will start against Tolouse on Wednesday.

HIs role will mainly be CL I would imagine. Other than that I would think he would be a bench player ready to come off and try and create chances and score late goals.

Pointless I know he never scores when he comes off the bench.

Crouch will get his fair share of games this season. There'll be injuries, rotation. We know he can do a job for us and score goals whenever called upon.

Mostly on the bench. I still think that this will be his last season for us and I won't be surprised if he moves in January.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think that Rafa used Crouch very well last season, picking him for the games in which he will have the biggest impact. I suspect the same will happen this season and that in those games Crouch will be very effective. If he can return to the form he was briefly in last season around the Arsenal game then I think he will be considered as direct competition for Kuyt and to a lesser extent Torres in other games.

Dont be surprised to see him start against Chelsea next Sunday......... Terry is out and look at the Havoc we caused them at Anfield Last season, when they had to play without a recognised center back
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

Terry isn't necessarily out on Sunday. He'll probably play.

Even so, Kuyt scored against a Terry-less Chelsea last season and Torres ain't gonna be left out. I fancy some more Kuyt/Towers next Sunday.

That will also apply to all the strikers. I think Crouch is 3rd choice with the Crow as 4th tbh.

Of course he'll play, this is Chelsea were talking about. Last week they were saying that he'd be out for around 4 weeks, same with Drogba, but miracously out of nowhere Drogba appears on the bench yesterday. Terry will probably be back for the trip to Anfield.

He is an away game man in my book. At home we need the full attack and movement where as away we need to get a bit rough and old skool.

I bank him playing the bulk of his games away from home.

Haven't the Chavs got Alex? he'll eat Crouchie, He never does well against big centre backs.
                          We come not to play.

Dunno what the score is with Alex/Chelsea, but he played for PSV against us at Anfield last season and Crouch played well and scored in a 2-0 win.

Alex is allowed to play for them.

Back to Crouch, I won't be surprised if West Ham makes a very big bid for him after the bad start they got. If they lose their next one or two games then they will be desperate to sign a new striker.

Will Rafa turn down £20m+ for Crouch?
