We look at people at his age and forget that he is actually a man proberbly in his prime of fitness and physical ability.He should be better than he has been imo.If he's one of these guys that need an arm around the shoulder all time to give him his confidence to put on a red shirtand give his everything for it, then thats £11.5m badly spent imo.We had one of those type of players in Heskey.We can't afford to have these kind of players in the team because by the time he's mentally prepaired for the challenge,wer'e playing catch up and looking at 3rd or 4th place again.It may sound cruel but imo that a reality,and carrying players or accomodating,we will be looking up at the other teams in May thinking if only again.We need the players for now,and apart from Torres and Veronin,our buys this summer so far havn't improved us.-----------------------------------------------

Owen and Rooney were playing for the clubs they grew up at and didnt move abroad, over in Holland Babel was meant to have played great. Ronaldo was no were near the player he is now when he first started at United, it took him a season to settle. I think there have been good signs from a lot of players so far this season but we badly need to get people setting a tempo from early on. The first half against Villa was interminable, we dominated but created little. Much the same could be said about the Toulouse game. We won both and dominated but we need to finish games off and score more goals if we are to challenge for the league.
From what I've seen I think that Babel and Torres have the pace and skill to add another dimension to our play from last year. However we need to look to release them earlier and occasionally consider carrying the ball from deeper of playing quick balls on the floor up to our forwards, at the minute we take to long to get attacks going and the opposition has time to set up their defense.
