I have always said I will take him at an age when he understands what supporting LFC is all about. It is not like supporting any other team: it is extremely special.

I have always felt that 7 years old is a good age to start.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

        Thoughts?

take him when he spontaneously expresses an interest - whatever age that is.

id say the only thing would be that he needs to know and understand what it is youre taking him to otherwise itd be very scary.

my lad's 3 1/2 and he definitely isnt ready for it

I remember my Dad telling me that he had 2 brothers. One a red and the other a toffee.

The red brother wised up first ( who'd have expected that hey?) and took my Dad along to Anfield and got him sorted out quick smart like. I'm so flippen glad he did. And now I've done the same with my lad.We had a Villa fan/friend over for dinner the other night and didn't my boy give him some . He's only 8 now and you should have heard him
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

He'll be fine. Kaip has taken Rocket a few times and although he was intimidated by the big people and the roar of the crowd he survived. Mind you, he does need to go 'pee-pee' a handful of times during a match. In fact, to this day the Kop still sings a song about him...

                    He did me proud!!

Andrew turned four in July and I started planning to take him to Anfield in April when he wanted to come with me to watch the Chelsea game in the Champions League when we were on hols. He was seriously devestated when we got back to the hotel and realised we were watching on telly and not the real thing.

Anyway the weekend started badly when seconds before boarding the flight the ****ing airport had to be evacuated due to a hoax something or other. Only a fifteen minute delay though and we still got to Anfield in time to have a family photo taken with Ol Big Ears.

At this stage Andrew was just thrilled to have been in a couple of Black Cabs with the fold down seats (easily pleased our lad ).

Anyway on to match day. After getting over the shock of seeing Steve from Koptalk outside Anfield we went into the ground. I had been told the seats were close enough to the Chelsea fans but didn't realise they were right next to the black Adidas dividing line thingy - slightly worrying in terms of noise maybe!

First big cheer of the day was for the Mancs result - no problem to our lad. He hardly blinked. Just asking loads of questions and finding the goalkeepers warm up exercises hilarious.

When Torres scored right in front of us the place went mental obviously. I had him on my knee at this stage so he could see but he nearly went flying when we all jumped up to celebrate. He was a little stunned but when he saw me laughing he joined in.

With ten minutes to go he finally asked to go home. Devestated I asked why and he replied "Because Liverpool are never going to score". He was seriously annoyed but stayed put no problem.

Thankfully he never once asked to go to the jacks during the game even though his old man was bursting.

All in all a great day. Each kid is different and I was quite nervous about bringing him in case he was frightened but delighted to report that he had a ball and the chants about John Terry's Ma etc seemed to go over his head

I brought my nephew when he was about six, he fell asleep during the second half! He's 18 now and a die hard supporter, so I like to piss him off by telling this story over and over.
"I'm sorry you'll have to speak up I'm wearing a towel".

                                18. can't stand seeing little snotty nosed kiddies and their parents moaning because about it being too rough. But nevermind that - what REALLY annoys me is when teams walk out with every single player holding the hand of some little brat. No wonder people say football is a soft mans sport. end.
