I realise his scoring record is poor from the bench but he does cause trouble. They could have another soft centre, against which Crouch would win headers all day, but Rafa won't know until after he's submitted his own team, so he should be on the bench.

I doubt that Crouch will be on the bench instead of Voronin. He played the whole game against Toulouse and Voronin was subbed with 12 minutes left.

Voronin has also played better than Crouch and he is also a better option of the bench.

Sissoko only played around 30 minutes and Babel the whole game so it's more likely that Sissoko will be on the bench if you consider that Babel isn't at the same fitness level as most of our players but it all depends on what type of midfield player(s) Rafa want on the bench. Player(s) that can protect a lead or if we need to attack.

I tend to think that Crouch would be better starting the game with Torres, with Kuyt on the bench with Babel. Kuyt's workrate and Babel's pace would do more damage to the Chav defence later in the game than Crouch's presence. In fact, I'd even consider Kuyt with Crouch to start to wear them down before unleashing Torres.

Jeez, I don't envy Rafa's job!!

Without Terry or Carvalho i'd start Crouch and play 2 out and out wingers. In fact i'd play gerrard on the right with Macher/Xabi in the middle!!
