Carrick on Soccer AM

Watched soccer AM round my mate's this morning and they had this thingy on Carrick 'One's to watch this season' or something.

Anyway, his Goalie was Cech, fair enough. Defense, Michael Dawson, ex-Spurs team mate, fair enough. I thought at this point 'Out of spite I bet he wouldn't even mention one of our players', but to my surprise

Midfield: 'Stevie G, he's got everything <insert random rave review>'

and to trump it, in attack he said 'Torres, going to be very interesting, huge reputation, will help Liverpool immensely etc'

and furthermore he even tipped us for a possible League title and said 'We have to finish above Chelsea, that's the main aim'

Or something along those lines.

Anyway, the main gist of it was that he mentioned us more than anyone else, which I found surprising and commendable. Never liked him until now, but he's gone up a notch for me.

Anyone else catch this?

I have to say I've never heard a single interview with him. Nice to hear people seem to be taking us more seriously in general this season.

Aye, I hadn't until today and I was, as was reg g, very surprised indeed. It's good to hear from 'The Outside' that we're a force to be reckoned with, especially from our fiercest rival - shows that not the whole world of football is riddled with 'hate' Or something

No one is debating that. And neither is anyone debating the fact he's a Manc ****. All I was doing was taking his words and relaying them on here and to me, those were positive words. Nothing more.

I wasn't but I will. He is a very good player with a good range of passing who cover a lot of ground and takes up good positions. He is however a Manc ****
