    Pennant was great today!

I'm still bitter about the Rob Styles pathetic decision.......which I felt was coming after several equally bizzare decisions....what a plonker!

BUT as a real positive, I felt Jermain Pennant was top-drawer today.....and hardly put a foot wrong! Keep it up lad!

Excellent game today. Rarely wasted a ball. His only glaring downside, presently, is that streak of petulance...the chav in him is always threatening to boil over and he needs to cut it out.

        Football-wise, he's doing great currently.

i think he would have stayed on if he hadn't been so stupid for getting booked for nothing in the first half, babel and pennant both on with riise out would have been great...

Thought Pennant has a great game, in fact we looked less likely to score after he was substituted.

Agreed, he's getting better and better which is encouraging.

He's just started to develop a bit more confidence too which has raised his game to a new level. I think there's still more to come from him but if he continues to improve then he could well be a vital part to our team.

Needs to calm the **** down though, fiery little bugger. I'm glad he's passionate, but, get booked or sent off for breaking someones leg, not for mouthing off at the ref.

Pennant should be in the England team ahead of the over rated Beckham. He has a more direct approach and can now deliver really good crosses. He just needs to contribute more in the scoring department. Other than that, his game is quite good.

For me for all Pennant's hard work, his final ball was lacking again though (apart from his last touch in the game). Kuyt's 1st touch was poor (I'd have put Crouch or Voronin on much earlier). We should have won today, even with a dodgy reffing decision. A chance to go 4 clear of Utd with a game in hand. It was a shame - we deserved it.

He's getting to a point where we'd have to spend a lot of money to get a better right winger than Pennant. There now aren't many in the PL.

Pennant was good, especially in the second half, although I thought it took him a while to get going in the first half. I thin he could go on to have a grear season.

Obviously the yellow was a factor in the substitution or I think JAR would have made way for Babel. Still not to sure about this Babel kid yet though. He had a good shot but he was wasteful with the ball, losing possesion a couple of times cheaply.

My wife said "That Pennant's ever so good isn't he", which suprised me as it meant she must have been paying attention for a change.

I thought he had a great game also, I agree if it had not been fr the booking he would of stayed on with JAR going off, at least I hope so.

I've got to say the petulance he shows game in game out gets on my tits..........its like you can't tackle me hard BUT yet i can steam in 2 footed ( ajax tournie ) and thats OK

This is gonna sound strange but the sooner he gets sent off the better, hopefully he might wise up and get down to playing some footie instead of trying to be the hardman which he clearly ain't

I thought he had an excellent 2nd half but an average first. He needs to cut out the silly yellows though. Babel is certainly more of a goal threat.

He's got small-man syndrome. Trying to prove he's a hardcase all the time when he's anything but.
