      I agree that he was good again today and I really want him to do well to stop the boo boys from slagging him off but for me his glaring downside today was when he failed to find Torres who had made the space in front of goal. If he finds him with the pass it's 2-0 and probably game over. Otherwise he was good.

        yeah that was very poor. It was such a simple pass too. You could see the whole move about to happen, and then............****

        Torres' movement for that chance was top notch

          I think that Torres will score alot from passes from Pennant. Wish that it started with that one

            That the one when Torres arrived in the box from the left-hand side and and dropped off into the space behind? I loved that movement too - very Fowler-esque.

              Shaggy I wish you would shut up about Torres. I read the other day that you were barking on about Cheyrou after his first game at Anfield. If Torres turns out to be **** I will hold you responsible.

                      you could see the space opening up.....and he made a beeline straight for it.

                      He is going to score quite a few goals for us if he continues in this manner

                      I would like to see him and Crouchie have a game though, see if they can form a partnership. Kuyt has been good, but Crouch gives Pennant something to aim at...and im sure Crouchie can knock a few headers on for Torres to run onto.

                            there is no doubt his goals are an issue.

                            Beckham got a lot of his goals from set pieces, Lundberg and Mcmoneyman hardly stayed on the wing and Ronaldo is a freak or world class.

                            It depends on what we want him for.

                            If rafa wants him to hug the line a create then if he sets up 20 goals a season and scores one thats fine by me.

                            I think the lack of creativity down the left is a problem for JP.

                            If you look at alot of the goals from RW its when they come in at the back post when the LW is crossing, we don't have one.

                            JPs only goal was exactly that, a cross from the left.

                            The only problem I have is his **** pull backs. In the CL final he did exacly the same to Gerrard as he did to Torres yesterday, put it in front of them lad not behind them or strasight at them.

                            I think he is progressing well and will be pushing Lennon and SWP to replace Beckham for England in the euro's if we get there and Mclaren doesn't bottle it and playe stevie G there to allow Hargreaves and Lampard to play

                              I think he's getting better and better and tbh he's doing what I think a good winger should do and that's get chalk on his boots.

                                I couldnt care less if he doesnt score, as long as he consistently provides the assists which are his primary objective...
