there shaping up nicely are madrid, its a close call for who'll win la liga this season. glad we never got him really, too injury prone.

The PL first said that the appeal would happen the same week as the decision was made but now they said that it would happen in September.

Heinze could have had the Madrid offer as backup all the time and decided to use it when he heard that they had changed the date of the appeal.

Staying at United was a no go so he probably didn't want to risk staying if the appeal had failed.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I thought the Bascombe article had said he would appeal - I think it was his lawyer who was quoted as saying that. And Bascombe saying that he would be prepared to do a year in the ressies to get his move in Jan or at the season end. Yet next I know he's signed for Madrid. I'm sure it was a back up, but he wasted no time in joining them once his original hearing had been rebuffed. Seems to go against what both Bascombe and his lawyer had said.

I'm glad we didn't get him, no improvement on what we already have got.....plus he's scum.....don't care how good he is supposed to be just can't see me supporting him coming directly from them!

            Glad in a way.

Buying a player off them just isn't right.

Another question is, why did they change the date of the appeal to September?

They said that the appeal would be heard the same week as the decision, so what made them change their mind?

                  Probably.

They knew by changing the date then it would force Heinze move to another club. If he would have appealed and failed then he would be sitting on the bench for at least four months or probably until next summer.

He is 29 and can't afford to spend a year on the bench. If he would take the case as some has suggested to the european court then it would take a lot longer time than that and that would mean the end of his career.

****ers. It's a pity there is no-one else who can play at Full and Center back , who is anywhere close to the quality of Heinze.

Guess we will have to hope Hobbs and Insua are ready for first team action if we hit an injury crisis (BTW I'm not too worried about Insua, he looks ready to me)
