So whats your problem wth someone calling there country by its Native name.
It can be Eire, Republic of Ireland or Ireland ... all 3 of them are just a valid ...
The description of "here" as the Republic of Ireland was seen as the breaking of the last link with the British Commonwealth in 1948. This was not, until recent times, always acknowledged by the British goverment and their continued referral to "EIRE" was seen as a snub to the recognition of our independence.
Lots of Brits refer to us as EIRE innocently and whenever I come across this I politely point out that this is not the term in common usage for this country. My point of view - but one shared by many Irish people.
I'm not worried though, as we all well know club and international football are worlds apart.
In two or three years time Agger will be one of the best center backs in European football. He's got class written all over him.
Yes, you can see that in him. We forget how young he is there but he has all the best capabilities of a defender and can still bring the ball out and assist even the forward play. One of our best signings in recent years.
