once again fergie appears to have come out on top. thats what pissed me off with the whole deal. we had little to gain. considering the rivarly between the two clubs unless where're trying to steal their star player its never going to be worth the hassle.

I think the mancs have suffered a lot more than we did from this situation. We were unsuccessful in signing a player, but they were seriously undermined.

Forget the talk of investigation, we didn't tap him up. We were alerted to his availability by his agent and we sent them a legitimate offer.

Put yourself in their shoes and imagine it happening to us. A Liverpool player eager to leave, refusing to sign a new deal and tries to engineer a move to Man United! It makes me sick just thinking about it and it certainly wouldn't comfort me even if he did leave for another club in the end, after a grueling legal battle such as this.

They were hurt badly by this incident. We just failed to sign a player, and we are quite used to it
