    Rafa this season

He's one step away from turning up on match day in full battle gear.

I heard during his time at Valencia he wasn't shy to face up to the competition and piss off a few managers along the way.

It seems to me his new found confrontational approach stems from the fact that he feels he now has a team ready to mount a serious title challenge.

I agree, what with all the rebuilding he has already done it does seem that he is now comfortable with his team & squad. I hope he keeps it up but in order to do that the team needs to keep winning! No point in being chopsy if the team is ****!! Still.....I am very hopeful this year, just got a great feeling! Come on you reds!!

        I think its great.

We are getting this seige mentalty that both United and Chelsea had when they were winning the title.

We are developing an attitude that I think you need. We are seeing a whole new Liverpool.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

have to agree he has the confidence in his players now

i think he ha had confidence in one off games before. he has done some mind games with the chavs in the champs league etc.

nearly everytime he has shouted his mouth off we have won so cant complain

Indeed, he's playing the game well this season already and it's what managers do when they feel like they're in a position to win.

Was it my imagination, or did Carra have a pop at Rafa when he was subbed off after his injury?.
Was watching the game live earlier, though he did.
Watching it again there on MOTD and i'm convinced he did.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                      Yep, he definitely did...

Not on in my book, Stevie would have been slaughtered for doing that.

                        what will be interesting is

if rafa continues like this what will our reaction be after we all have said how we like his refusal to comment on things his pretending to not speak enough englsih to comment.

we thought he was classier than some other managers. will we still think this?

by the way i think the man is a footballing god. and whatever he does is fine by me. but it will probably show how we all have double standards

Yeah I knew I wasn;t seeing things. It was almost like Carra having a go at Rob Styles , Rafa didn't react at all though.
I'm sure it was all just a missunderstanding though. Rafa obviously didn;t realise Carragher was as bad as he was. Just hope he didn;t ignore Carra's request to come off and Carra had to force the issue, which is kinda the way it came across.

I think it was a misunderstanding personally. I am sure Rafa would have explaned himself to Carra. Although, you wonder wonder, after Sammi already coming off injured and havin no recognised centre half left to call on.

i just think carra was hurting and pissed off at how long it took. rafa saw the reaction and just ignored it. a nothing incident i would say.

but its right if stevie did it that would be in the papers tomorrow
