Momo man of the match Liverpool,
just edging out Voronin for me,
I think Arbeloa is also worthy of a mention, remained calm in the Liverpool defence at centre half, was like Carra and Sammi never left the field.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Very impressed indeed with Torres, and especially the Torres-Voronin link up play. Pennant had an excellent game as did Momo whose running with the ball and short passing was superb.

MOM is Momo for me with special mentions for Torres, Pennant, and Voronin.

Hope Carra is not out for too long.

Like I mentioned about the whole Heinze deal, it was more important than it looked. Sami had blurred vision as well, Carra a possible broken rib. Let's hope this isn't too serious, because we're looking bloody good and should Carra be out for a while and Hyypia not a long-term replacement I think this might become an area of concern. I don't think Arbeloa or Riise are up to the job, for half a game maybe, but not for an extended amount of time.

Really glad about the 3 points however, some brilliant counter-attacking for the second

Shame about Jamie. He'll be back quicker than most though. Guaranteed.

Torres looks epic. What a threat.

Babel needs games to get into it.

Easy win really. Goalkeeper aside Sunderland look a very poor side.

Expect a defender to arrive in the next week. Micah Richards would be nice.

Yeah, they were as noisy as the home crowd were at full pelt, which is quite an achievement at that ground.
Good variety of songs aswell from our fans, in a class of their own

                    Gordon MOM Torres for us.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if it was just me but I thought Halsey was totally inept today.

He was giving phantom free kicks against our players, usually two passes after one of Sunderlands players booted one of ours up in the air. He was letting them get away with all kinds and only produced 1maybe 2 yellow cards.

Thought we had 1 maybe 2 decent claims for a penalty, and the handling of the Hyypia and Carragher injuries just seemed inept by the all the officials. I know referees in focus at the moment and i'm really happy with our 3 points, but to me that was a really bad refereeing performance.

He made a few odd FK decisions, but I didn't think he was particularly bad overall tbh.
