He might be rested a bit more early season as he played in the Copa America. He played 6 games including the final on 15th July, a good 6 weeks after our season ended

I can only imagine he was being saved for the Toulouse game. He was on the bench wasn't he?

He and Crouch were mystery omissions but I suppose thats what happens now Rafa has built up a quality squad. Some things like his rotation will never change.

Early doors kid,for the first time since I can remeber we have a "squad".

Crouchie and Benyaoun didn't even make the bench today,we still have calring cup,fa cup,cl games ahead so everyone will play their fair share.

He's being eased back to full fitness I think. The lad had practically no rest and no pre-season so it'd be stupid of us to put him straight into the thick of things.

with macherano keeping it solid in front of the back 4 it will leave momo free to make his trademark bursting runs into the box and spread play from one side of the pitch to the other with bullet like diagonal passes that he has become famous for !!! what a player, what a man

I do hope that Masch is played regularly enough to keep him happy, my biggest fear is that we will **** it up and he will be off to pastures new next summer
