Surprized he's done as well as he has.

To be fair I knew little about him.

Think him being on a free made up a lot of peoples minds up.

Though it really shouldn't, didn't Sol Campbell move on a bosman during his prime? I'm sure there are other examples.

At least he's not afraid to shoot unlike someone else I could mention.

So what now? Is Benayoun going to be the "crap summer signing, he's worthless ****" whipping boy. I mean the simple minded folk need one don't they? Haven't they already done this over on TLW?

Voronin has looked great so far. I don't think he is what any of us expected.

I'd just say though that lets judge him at the end of the season. I'm not knocking him but I've seen a lot of players come to this club look the business and then leave on a free at the end of their contract or get sold at a fraction of the price.

I think I'm just still a bit pissed off at getting Diouf 9 on the back of my shirt after his home debut.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

But there's a lot of people on here who will be eating humble pie and wiping egg off their face for a long time given some of the ludicrous knee jerk reactions when his signing was first announced...'he's ****e, why do we need him on a free when we've got £100m to spend, he even looks crap on youtube, why haven't we got Eto'o instead, I don't like his ponytail' etc.

Is anyone man enough to own up and admit that, even so early in the season, he's proven them wrong?! IMO the guy looks like a more clinical and dangerous version of Kuyt, only he cost us precisely £10m less. His long range shooting and link play is excellent, and if he carries on like this he should easily chip in with 10-15 league goals. I don't give a monkeyface if he's got a pony, is unfashionably Ukranian and came on a free...which reminds me he already looks far better value than a certain countryman of his who cost over £30m...

Hopefully some lessons have been learned - and certain people won't be so hysterically quick to judge a player who hasn't even pulled on the red jersey yet.

          The Crow

His strike partner isn't looking too shabby either
He's looked very useful so far.

But if he'd had 2 ****e games and someone had started a thread saying how he'd been ****e, they'd have been slaughtered because it was too early to judge (and rightly so).

Same applies with the situation reversed. He HAS looked good. Still too early to judge though.

Diouf is a very good example of how a couple of games is too soon to make a judgement.

To be Honest, I didnt expect much from him as he looked like a replacement for Robbie (ie our 4th choice striker).

However, he's surprised me and IMO is our best signing so far this season. It's early days, but if he can build on his start, he'll be a Kop Favourite for a Long Time

              Great business by Rafa

True...but he's already made people like Nic83 look silly. Saying it 'might be best for him and the team if he broke his leg'

Sorry but Diouf cost something like 10mil and Voronin is a bosman free, yes it's too early to say he's going to be a huge success at the club but to compare him to that goofy, spitting, gob****e of a ****, who is probably the biggest disgrace to pull on a Liverpool shirt is harsh to say the least!

Not sure if I posted anything nasty about the Crow before he joined or not but I admit I couldnt understand the point of the signing and was thoroughly unimpressed.

How wrong was I? He's been ace so far. I assumed he was more of a lumbering target man type, strong in the air and decent at holding the ball up, kind of a poor mans Crouch. But obviously hes a totally different type of player, very intelligent, skillful, good eye for a pass, good shot on him. He looks like being a perfect replacement for Fowler and is putting genuine pressure on Kuyt and Crouch to produce the goods or be in danger of not even making the squad!

I think the Voronin case is a lesson to everyone: Criticize a Rafa signing at your peril. His record in the transfer market is fantastic and the only flop who hurt us in the pocket was Morientes.

The internet warrior lie that Rafa isn't a good judge of attacking players is hilarious.

The Crow has looked excellent so far. Works hard, not afraid to shoot, and on Saturday he was constantly trying things (little passes, turns, etc). And no transfer fee.

As Disco said... Voronin: Best Ukranian player in the Premiership.

Extremely encouraging start for Voronin, (though he looks around 40) though the intellgent the running off the ball by Torres has assisted greatly.

I'm sure there would be many red faces if you pulled up many earlier posts. Where are those who would have sold their granny to buy Adriano? Personally I gave up early judgements after harassing our young, skinny right back at White Hart Lane as Ginola tore him to shreds. I was was confidernt he would never amount to much, ah well we all make mistakes.

And how about Benayoun tonight?! He was the other one of our summer buys to get a lot of stick...he ran that game tonight in a way the guy he replaced (Garcia) never did

I'll echo a few others, knew feck all about him before he was linked/signed and I saw him on YouTube but he's looked pretty good so far

Its funny that no-one (that we know off) compared or critisised (i'm pretty intelligent, honest, but how the fook do you spell critisised?!) Pizarro and he was a free transfer too

The Crow looks way better than decent in all games i've seen him in. Its early days, but so what. We can only talk about what we've seen him do so far right? And for me, thats been pretty fookin good
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
