Central Defence - Cause for Concern?

Ok, so it looks like our defensive lynch pin and equal vocal captain Carra is injued for around a month, so who is going to cover? do you think we have enough to cope without him, or do you feel we need to bring a new face in, how about giving a youngster a chance?

Sami Hyypia well he's just broken his nose so will be sore, that apart he may be a legend but he has not got the pace any more to stick with the lightening quick strikers of the Premiership, also communication is not really his forte so leading the backline with the relatively inexperienced Agger is going to be interesting.

Arbeloa the improving Spaniard played at centre back successfully when at Deportivo, he is Mr Utility and so far in his short career has impressed, but the La Liga is a different kettle of fish, much slower and much less physical, can he cope with someone like Heskey?

Hobbs can the young centre back fill in? he's been the bridesmaid for so long can he be trusted to come good? in the games he has played he has been error prone and pace does not look like an asset he has can he cope in the Premiership and take to it like Mica Richards?

Other who else can play there? Antwi and Roque are on loan, maybe Sissoko can do a Viera and play at centre back?

New Signing? Metrassaker? or somebody on loan? who can be signed at such short notice?

I think Rafa will keep it as it is although I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for someone from Spain or thereabouts. He has pulled off some masterstrokes like finding Arbeloa so it should be an interesting week or so

Whoever Rafa has in mind to potentially replace Sami next summer, should be brought in now. We have the money (Heinze) and I'm sure we have the names.
