I don't think you will need to be concerned about that after this week. Rafa is working on it.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Maybe Rafa will try and sign Ezequiel Garay again. Would be a great signing.

Sami is still a top CB. I doubt anyone will come in and keep him out of the first team.

For me Samis quality is what means we can afford to use a prospect who understand zonal marking to fill in. Sami can't play every game. the question is whether anyone of our youth is capable of playing in the PL.

Otherwise I feel we will probably need experienced cover from a player used to the zonal marking system.

You can get more than one defender injured at any one time though, that is possible. If we are going to rely on only using 3 centre backs all season then we are taking too big a risk in my opinion.
Chiellini can play left back and centre back and is clearly a mature player haing played in defence in Italy. You have to be a good defender to be a defender in Italy because defneders are two a penny there.
Rumour has it that Sunderland are leading the chase for him with the fee believed to be 10 million pounds.
It's a price worth paying IMO, if he's not needed in the centre he will be challenging for his place on the left.
What happens if Finnan, Sami, Agger or Arbeloa get injured? Are we taking this title race seriously or are we just having a go?

its true, we need another centre midfielder too. what if gerrard, alonso, masch and sissoko and leiva get injured?

seriously, we have Carra, Agger, Hyppia, Arbeloa for CB. we have riise, Aurelio, Insua for LB and finnan and Arbeloa for right back.

So if we were to sign a CB, he would have to be better than arbeloa right? Would he then be happy to be 4th choice is 3-4 weeks time when Carra is back?

Liverpool boss Benitez admits defensive signing needed
                tribalfooball.com - August 26, 2007

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez admits injuries to Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia could force him back into the market.

The Kop boss, who has also allowed young Argie full-back Gabriel Paletta to join Boca Juniors, is now short of options at the back.

Benitez said: "We are thinking about finding more players and maybe we will have to look at this situation again."

I think we will be signing one or two players who can cover anywhere across the back line. Perhaps someone who we've previously linked with and/or someone who is available.

I can't think of a better signing than Chelieni.

Not that expensive. Still very young, big, strong and can play LB and CB.

He would cost £11m. The money is there so it's up to Rafa if he thinks Chiellini is worth £11m or not.

Where did you get that figure from mate? Last time we were linked with him, he was available for the same price as Heinze.

That's the price Juve has said that they want for him.

Man C offered €13m for him but Juve turned them down and said that they want €16m.

Mascherano could probably do a job for us at Cb, although he's a little small. Or even Gerrard? We have got an extra midfieler at the moment, and a forced quick signing is probably not going to be of the standard we need.

                                What about Curtis Davis?

He's tall, strong and he has experience at this level.
