    Lucas and Leto

Well, what did you all think?

for what it's worth, i thought Lucas looked a lot more comfortable and got about a lot in his cameo role. Leto looked ok initially but did fade away badly, he has alot to do to even begin staking a claim.

Lucas did ok, not a lot to catch the eye. Leto was lively in the first half and looked like a bothered Kewell, he will get a few chances, Kewell is injured, Aurelio is bound to be again and Riise is the only other left fotted option for the wing.

      Couldn't argue with that.

I thought Leto suffered for the fact we were having so much joy down the right... We just didn't bring the ball across that side of the pitch while attacking. Thought he did ok for a first appearance.

That said, Lucas just looks class. Didn't waste a ball, looked very comfortable in posession, and just seemed so eager to get on the pitch in the first place.

Got a text from my ex, she can't believe our squad. And that was before Lucas came on. lol

Thought Leto was bright in the first twenty minutes but to be fair most of the ball went down our superb right side. Lucas looked very comfortable when he came on and i've got big hopes for him, however it was as you said just a cameo role.

Lucas did well. Played some good passes and looked comfortable on the ball.
I agree that Leto faded away. I was thinking during 2nd half that this was a perfect opurtunity for him to shine, playing such a ****e team, but he didn't take it.

I don't think Leto is match fit like the others around him, he looked different to the other wingers we have and is an alternative to Kewell and Riise. Lucas did fine and will be a star in the future- he kept his game simple and his work with Chief was quite good.

i thought lucas looked very assured on the ball, he made a few neat passes and never put a foot wrong and even had the confidence to volley at goal, he looks the real deal for what we paid for him anyway.

leto started the game well, and had the ability to beat his man and get a cross in, he never really got into the game and at times looked unsure of what to do, im sure that is down to lack of experience rather than incompetence though.

bit harsh on leto, true he faded but not badly, we just didn't play the ball down that side as much, and he probably knackered himself a bit being only his first match an all

Leto impressed me tonight. He really did. He showed some class to get past defenders and that's what we need(ed)!

Lucas Leiva ... He is a Brazilian international (so he might be doing something right), but unforunately, I didn't see enough to judge him. He looks okay for now and might develop in to an outstanding midfielder (he sure has great teachers at the club).

Let us hope they will both become awesome players for us. Who the flying **** is Nani Jackson?

First half Leto looked very tidy. Second he faded badly. Perfectly decent debut though overall.

Lucas has stature. He'll take a while to really shine, but he's going to be a very good player in a few years.

I have said that Lucas will be seen as our best signing this summer in a few years time.

I wonder how the feck Rafa will be able to solve the problem to keep all our central midfielders happy? That will be a problem even that we play a lot of games.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

He wont be able to, somebody will leave. We potentially have 5 world class centre mids there's no way all of them will be kept happy.

I dont think it's that harsh, he was a bit unsure of what to do, but I can accept that was probably down to nerves/first match etc.
But for a few mins in the first half I did think Kewell could be let go now. After the match I thought the we'll need Harry to provide some more experience on the wing for the rest of the season before we can get rid of and rely upon Babel and Leto.

Leto didn't do much with the ball for me, but then again it was mainly down the other flank. Worked hard without it though and showed some promise (and nerves).

Lucas seemed to slot in really easily and oozed class from the off. I can wait for him to get a run of games, although that might not happen this season.
