    Long Distance Commitment

Took my usual seat in the paddock last night accompanied by a work colleague who'd never been to Anfield before. Loved it

None of the people round me were regulars and being the inquisitive son of a that I am I asked a couple of people where they had come from.

The young lad behind me had flown in from Poland for his first ever visit. He took about 1000 photos and lived every second of the match like it might be the only chance he would get

The guy next to me had driven up from Torquay with his 5 or 6 year old lad and was driving straight back that night.

I didn't dare ask the three Chinese girls in front where they had come from in case they just died of giggling.

Don't want to start any out of towner bollox debates but it made me appreciate more than ever living on the doorstep of the greatest football club in the world.

Never forget it. Respect to those long travelling fans

My eldest lad was using my mate's ticket in the Paddock last night (row J, just below the Directors' Box). Perhaps the girls in front of you were Fredo's cousins?

I used to stay overnight for midweek games, but i just drive back straight after now, overnight driving is quite enjoyable

God knows what time i'd have got back from Sunderland if it had been a midweek 8pm kickoff

Nothing like a nice drive home to discuss the match, it's about 2hrs so not too bad. Big respect to the guy from Torquay though! I normally get to about a dozen home games but last night was my first of the season...I must be out of practice as I felt knackered today.
I got caught out on A50 though, had to piss up the garage seen as they didnt let me in. what kind of service station shuts at night?!
I know I'll often stop and think about them, In My Life, I love you more - 96
