    Liverpool 12/1 for CL!

Barcelona are favourites. With 2 CL finals (and 1.5 wins - we should have won the last one) who reckons we won't go all the way this year? Barcelona have strengthened but other than that, I can't see anyone stopping us. With our squad and a few more goalscoring opions, it's got to be number 6 this year

      Betting section lad.

The best Champions league bet I've seen is an English club to win it at 7/4.

I honestly think the level of focus will be SO geared toward the league, that if we remain there or thereabouts near the top for long enough, the CL campaign will fall by the wayside come early spring.

Course, the other train of thought is that we'll coast the group with our eyes closed, get an easy draw in the last 16 and then put just enough focus on the CL ties when they come along, so that we get to Moscow, clinch the league title and then win number 6 to go with 19

****, we'll have to accelerate the new stadium as we'll need a bigger trophy room for those and the FA and Carling cups!

Sky had us at 14-1 earlier.

I honestly feel we're on the edge of something big here. We're going to hand out beatings to some teams and win at least one of the two major trophies.

Early optimism? No, I've just been paying attention for a while.

28/1 for that is terrible, I had Liverpool at 25/1 for the champions league last year.

same as me, backed them just after christmas too when we got drawn against barca.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I don't particularly fancy us this year - though that might be just because I don't fancy the trip to Moscow for the final! - but with two finals in three years, and consistently strong performance in Europe, I think it is ludicrous that Ladbrokes have us as sixth favourites and behind Inter!

Champions League betting (Ladbrokes): 9-2 Barcelona; 6-1 Chelsea, Man Utd; 8-1 Inter Milan, AC Milan; 9-1 Liverpool, Real Madrid; 18-1 Arsenal, Lyon; 20-1 Sevilla, Valencia; 25-1 Roma; 33-1 bar.
