Impressed by the effort to get most signings sewn up very early this time. All that faffing about with those Portuguese blokes last summer was something I didn't want to see again.

Arsenal's defence will be fine for pace (Toure & Gallas), but neither are in the physical mould of an Adams / Bould / Keown / Campbell / Cygan type. A big, physical CF against them (Hartson, Heskey, Viduka etc.) will give them real trouble. However, I suppose they have Senderos.
Chelsea really make me laugh. Huth AND Gallas gone. Terry & Carvalho 1st choice. Boulahrouz in. Who says he'll settle? Geremi maybe to do a job. If I was manager of ANY PL or CL side now, I'd be encoraging people to take Terry out big-time.

if you look at the goals chelsea have conceded so far nearly everyone one of them where from crosses and all teams did was miss out terry and put the forward up against carvahlio who is **** in the air and teams are now onto itOriginally posted by Kopite_ColinArsenal's defence will be fine for pace (Toure & Gallas), but neither are in the physical mould of an Adams / Bould / Keown / Campbell / Cygan type. That's a lot of business for one summer. Our deadwood has been removed and quality bought in. Kuyt looked very good against WHU. I still think in time we will sign Alves.

That list is a great read. Of the outs I'd only keep Carson. I think next summer we'll see a complete Rafa squad. The next 2 years are critical for Rafa and for us. If it all goes pear-shaped, then he'll have the fans on his back. If it goes as well as the first 2 years we'll be PL or CL (or both) champions.
It's been a long time since I looked forward to a season so much.

we signed good players but not World Class players - and that is where the difference is between us and the scum & chel$ki.
yes they may pay inflated prices but if the likes of the hammers manage to sign tevez & mashpotato no matter how dodgy the deal is you have to ask yourself what was parry doing whilst this was going on....
probably playing a round of golf
In Rafa I Trust

Perhaps Parry didnt want us to take these 2 players for a year to help Chelsea out and thus become a feeder club for them like WHU have just become. If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

if we could afford the 20 million each for them then yes, by all means. but no-one is seriously suggesting we should just have them for a year, owned by some dodgy firm surely??. I personally think west ham have done the right thing, but any big club would be mad to do the deal west ham have struck

Perhaps Rafa didn't think we need Tevez and Maschareno, he's never indicated he wanted them.
As far as I'm concerned, Parry has been excellent this summer.rnm is funny, funny like funny haha.
Goals 2006/7 (CS, PL, CL)

Yes parry had a good window, signings wise. And i am happy that Rafa has been backed.Originally posted by G_ManWe have had a good winow engineered by Rick Parry
and supported/funded by Mr Moores
Respect is certainly due to these 2 gentlemen who have shoved the words of many a critic right back down their throats. I've criticised Parry in the past, I don't mind admitting that, mainly 12 months ago.
If you give the flak, you've also got to dish out the credit and praise:
Well done Mr Moores and Rick Parry
I wonder if the knives are still out for Parry and Moores on Kuntalk.
Would love to see you prove that a cent of the money we spent came out of Moores pocket though (hahahaha), all we spent was prizemoney, and CL qualification money. Good that Moores allowed it, but he didnt fund it as such.
And, any CEO should have been able to clinch those deals. Parry still needs to go, but for once, the need for change isnt as urgent. I suspect Rafa is happy, and most fans are too.
On the pitch we can be optimistic, off it, we still have a long way to go before we are where we should be in that respect. However, given the shape we are in, i am prepared to give him another year to see if Parry can turn around the investment and sponsorship problems, and get us our new stadium this decade.LFC Champs in 2007/07
Still the number 1 aussie red
Torres is the future!

the dela for tevez and mascharano was hawked about several other clubs before West Ham took the bait.
It was only a matter of time until someone took it. This time next year both Argies will be playing elsewhere.
