We have a world class keeper in Reina.

The best central defense in the world, Agger and Carra.

One of the best right backs in the world, Finnan.

A left back who is getting better and better, Arbeloa.

The best holding midfielder in the world, Mascherano.

The most complete midfielder in the world, Gerrard.

One of the best passers in the world, Alonso.

One of the best strikers in the world, Torres.

One of the best hard working strikers in the world, Kuyt.

Add then all the other excellent players we have and I think I can say that we have the best squad in the world. Chelsea, Man U, Real, Barca, Milan and Inter have excellent squads but probably only Milan can be compered to us if you add team play into the mix.

We have the best squad that can play as a team even if we change four or five players every week.

I'm scared to think what this team can achieve in a year or two when they will understand each other even better on the pitch.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Masch can do that without any problem at all and that means that the other central midfielder can play higher up the pitch.

Masch is the key to our new attacking style.
How man games has Mascher played? How many games have we played this new more attacking style?

I like him a lot but to imply that he has caused a change in our style of play is a bit of an exageration considering that he has only played one PL game and and against a piss poor Toulouse.

That said he is a great defensive midfielder and from what I saw (highlights only I'm afraid) also contributed in creating moves. Long may we have 4 great CMs to pick from if it means all play as well as they have of late when given a chance.

AF has gone OTT a little bit but in general I agree with him.

I know Mascherano hasn't played that many games this season but the team which played Chelski in last years CL semi said a lot for me regarding Rafa's feelings towards the lad.

The change in style of play is interesting because it's evident that Rafa mixes it up a lot depending on who we are playing, despite the same players being involved.

El Jefe is a ****ing monster of a player
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Yes he is and for the first time in 17-18 years, we could actually have a team where the bulk of the first XI consists of 'world class' players.

mascherano is the best defensive midfielder in the world and we are the luckiest club in the world to not only have him here, but to have him take over from the last best defensive midfielder in the world in didi hamann.

Whatever Mascher price we have agreed as part of his loans deal we should pay it whatever it costs, he is ****ing awesome and still only 22!!

What the hell was Curbishley thinking not picking this guy then signing the likes of Nigel Quashie to replace him!!

Last season I thought he'd be a holding midfielder on the level of a Makelele in his prime or a Gattuso...I think he's already there. As much as I like Momo, el Jefecito's just a better player. Keeping him here is a no-brainer.
