Sounds like an economical decision if you ask me because he didn't turn them down straight away.
I don't think you can tell. He may have felt like he was not going to play and that he was to be only a reserve and then the offer of a contract convinced him that Rafa had faith in him. He is certainly wising up in terms of what to say to the media and his whole hearted commitment on the pitch means I am glad he chose to stay.

Anyone else see Torres when he scored, or the Crow they seem to get along very well, always looking for each other.

I think they have a better partnership together then Torres and Kuyt.

Let's just hope that we had the foresight to put it into their contracts that we will not sell to a Prem rival...........or else cue Demento putting in a bid for Momo potentially!

I think these lads will get a fair number of games when you consider we have the CL, the FA cup and the league cup in addition to the PL, we could be in contention for all competetitions for a long time this season.

Don't forget Aurelio has yet to come back!

Most powerful and exciting squad for a long time.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Out of the five we've got, it's more likely to be Momo who moves on IMO. The new contract he signed in the summer will certainly help us negotiate a substantial fee if he's in demand.

Yeah, I hadn't really been thinking of Masher as he's one we are going to want to keep.

The point is more that we will be selling a top class player as we have too many rather than selling someone who has turned out not to be good enough as has been the case in the recent past.

All the players mentioned are of a very high calibre and deserve regular football.
If it can just last peacefully until May and number 19 then I'll be happy.

I disagree. Gerrard is an automatic pick when fit and Benitez believes that we need our strongest 11 on the field. Gerrard won't play league Cup, will probably miss some FA Cup, will hopefully miss the later group stages of Champions League and may well also be rested for some league games against weaker opposition.

According to physioroom dot com this is his status:

H Kewell, Groin Strain, return date - 15th Sep 07

                        But AfII's was funnier.

Just to add.... They have Stevie & Fabio down as the same return date also.

                              A tad distasteful.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
