I'm glad we didnt get the ******* after what he done to carra! Hes one of the dirtiest players in the prem and our great fair play record over the last few years would have gone out the window! I know pepe is an awsome penalty stopper but signing neil would end up putting pepe's reputation under threat with the amount he gives away!

Probably wouldn't be the best man-management stunt in the world to keep a player who feels is not rated/wanted.
That's pretty much the way I read the situation. I don't think Rafa was that keen to hold onto our third choice left back. It was just a case of him not wanting to overpay for a player who's in the last year of his contract and refusing to sign a new deal.

Warnock doesn't seem to have a great future at the club, he's not a great player by any stretch of the imagination. He's an aggressive tackler, but poor positionally and hasn't really got anything other than a decent long ball to his game.

I agree, nice to have a good sprinkling of good (being the most important word...i.e. not Fletcher, Miller et al) British & Irish players. Pennant, Gerrard, Warnock, Crouch, Carragher, Finnan & Bellamy - the type of players who aren't bothered about a wet January midday kickoff in Bolton.

IMO Our best foreign players have a British style and mentality - Hyypia, Riise, Alonso, Kuyt et al.

Meandering aside, I'm glad we kept Stephen!

I am glad Warnock is still here we need his type here.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Is that just because he's Scouse ?

He's not going to play much, we could quite easily do without him.

He's not scouse, he's from Ormskirk which is in Lancashire. Ormy-ites don't take kindly to being refered to as "scouse" HOwever, I take it as the upmost of compliments!

No I think he's better than that. He's no world beater but he's a good player. Good left foot, great tackle...he just needs to be more disciplined defensively/positionally.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I agree and that is why I believe that Warnock will be nothing more than a backup for LFC. Doesn't mean I think Warnock is a bad player. I suppose everything is compared to Riise since he is our current number one left-back and, in my opinion, Riise is so much better than Warnock...
