You are correct, there is not one person in Iraq or Afghanistan that chooses to wear the body armour and helmets.Originally posted by Fierce View PostI think you'd be pretty uncomfortable if you DIDN'T wear shades!
And yeah maybe they should lose the lids when (if?!) its safe to, but I'm sure that its regulation to always wear a helmet. Its pretty dangerous out there apparently!

It is laid down by senior commanders that that is the current dress standards.
It is British policy to wear berets and minimal body armour but that is dependant on the current inteligence. The americans are in a much more dangerous environment than we are generally. You can argue all you want that this is because of the way they go about there business but the point is if wearing the armour saves just one more soldier then it is worth it.
If you have not been in circuimstances where it is necessary to wear the full kit you could not possibly imagine how uncomfortable it is.
I have worked with the American forces in many places and have to say that there kit is even more uncomfortable than ours (probably because it is of better quality and is more effective).

Why no laws regrading alcohol in Iraq, it was never a religious fundamentalist country.Originally posted by AFII View PostI'm a little surprised that they have our shirts with the Carlsberg logo on.
