    Agger

His range of passing and execution of the same has been a revelation for us this season. He's a little Hansenesque in this respect. Looks like he could be our "attack starter" on a regular basis. Given his age and experience it bodes very well for the future.

He will prove to be a great buy.............and if he gets anywhere near Alan's standard playing against a good team he will be fantastic

he is looking a bargain at 5mill odd.
Getting stronger week by week, I remember when he first joined he looked a bit out of place, but now...

I'm still amazed at the ease in which he usurped Hyypia. An amazingly smooth transition for a central defender. We've already taken him for granted, which says a lot, IMO.

I thought we'd ended up with second best when I saw how Vidic played for the scum early on but we appear to have the much more rounded/higher ability player now in our stable. Great spot by the scouting department considering Richards will probably go for 3 to 4 times the amount we paid for him.

I think the beating (literally) that drogba gave him in the first leg of the Champs League semi last season really thought him a lesson - he matured hugely in that week and showed his strength of character in the second leg. Add to that the experience of playing the CL final - he's going to become an Anfield stalworth at the back. He compliments Carra as well as any player could.

Couldn't agree more. Everyone was wondering how we'd replace Sami; now its a surprise if Sami is on the field ahead of him.

When the time comes, if Carra's replacement is of a comparable quality, and we can ease him into first team action as smoothly as we did with Agger, we'll be sorted at the back for years to come...

Replacing Carra would/will be far more difficult than replacing Sami - you can buy ability/pace/class/aggression etc but you can't buy a player that has it in him to die for the jersey - Gerrard went to the brink and came back - I could never see Carra even contemplating a move.

The good thing about Carra is that he doesn't rely on blistering pace so as he gets older he won't be loosing that "edge". I can see Carra being our Baresi.

Micah Richards alongside Agger would be superb.

I wouldn't play Micah Richards in the defence. He should be further upfield imho.

I think he is much better than Ferdinand, God I hate that ****ing bent lipped wannabe gangster. He has better ball control, very cultural and still has years to go.

                      Great buy by Rafa.

He's already a better defender than Hansen was.

We still need one more. Agger is great cover for Hyypia. We don't have a great stopper like Carra though. I would have loved to have Ayala as backup to Carra.
