I hope so, either way I don't want Stevie to aggrevate the injury should he play.
Also I hope England lose both games so that it speeds up McLaren's exit.

In an ideal world id like england to be crap enough to get mc****wit the sack but also for England to scrape through and qualify somehow.Originally posted by sean_lfc View PostI hope so, either way I don't want Stevie to aggrevate the injury should he play.

Its never the same watching the finals without England in them. Plus for Stevie it would be good for them to actually be competitive in a major finals, and I genuinely believe with the right guidance England could very well be competitive.

The emphasis lies on 'right guidance' and 'could'. The whole saga surrounding the recent appointment of the England manager was embarrassing, it really angers me. Might as well just let the press choose the team, tactics and whatnot, they surely couldn't do a worse job than McLaren is. Ineptitude of gargantuan proportionsOriginally posted by Darth Marty View PostIn an ideal world id like england to be crap enough to get mc****wit the sack but also for England to scrape through and qualify somehow.

You cant blame Stevie for being proud to represent his country...Id be delighted to have been able to have played for Wales (probably get a game if i brought me boots).
And the F.A have been particularly useless and I cant see that changing. And as mentioned earlier...I hate the ****ing press with a vengeance.

I think there's nothing wrong with that. I think what annoys the people who have no problem with that, is that he is too good to be risked under a manager who has no clue whatsoever, if it were at least WORTH it, ie. if England had a manager who was worth the cause of playing through the painbarrier, I'd have no problems with it. The way I see it with McLaren though: What's the point of turning up? It's not like he will ever ever win any Trophy at International level, seeing his credentials as club manager...know what I mean?Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostAll that aside Sir Stevie loves Engerland

Mate I love my country, but I'd rather sweep the stands at Anfield than play for CyprusOriginally posted by Darth Marty View PostYou cant blame Stevie for being proud to represent his country...Id be delighted to have been able to have played for Wales (probably get a game if i brought me boots).

Aye, but Stevie is already on the other end of the scale. He's adored by all Reds, he's the 'Star Player' for us. Like it or not, for him this is daily routine, I bet he doesn't mind the 'special' occasions when he gets to have something different going on (not that this is fact, nor, if it were, that I'd agree with it), but I can see it like a work night out, or something, having a blast at something else or somethingOriginally posted by Dhavlos View PostMate I love my country, but I'd rather sweep the stands at Anfield than play for Cyprus

But without Lampard he has no option other than to play Sir Stevie. Engerland is that weak.

I wouldn't say so. If England were managed properly it wouldn't make a difference whether Gerrard and Lampard play, England should still win comfortably against small teams such as Israel, just look at us vs. Derby and before vs Toulouse. No Gerrard, still winning.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostAgree
