the likes of hargreaves, nani and saha are good at least for the bench

Torres would be a starter just to make the strikers balanced and id take tevez over rooney

so the first eleven of mine would look like this

    Torres - Tevez

    Giggs - Gerrard - Scholes - Ronaldo

    Evra - Vidic - Carragher - Finnan

    Reina

also, disagree strongly on saha. very underrated player.
    Saha is average
Never take Vidic over Agger or at the moment Evra over Arbeloa
Rather have Xabi and Mascher over Scholes.
    Nani hasn't impressed me.

Bollox of the highest order if I may say so.

Scholes was being shafted by SVEN - who was too scared to drop SG and/or Lampturd because he was afraid of the public outcry and the battering he'd get from the press. Instead - he moved Scholes to left midfield where he's about as much use as tits on a nun. Scholes (quite rightly) threw his hand in and quit the national team.

Just as an aside - has Cara 'wimped out' of England selection because he can't replace Terry or Ferdinand? Just asking like.

Reina, Finnan, Carvalho, Carra, A.Cole, Pennant/SWP (tough to call as Pennant's been awesome so far this season), Gerrard, Mascherano/Essien (tough to call again), Joe Cole, Torres, Drogba

EXCEPT: Eljefecito for Essien. Agger for Carvalno; Malouda for Cole and Aurelio/Insua for cole in his current form. BTW I'd also have Crouch on the bench for Saha / Rooney(Tevez).

I really rate Cole and prefer him to Malouda, who i've barely seen. Insua over Ashley Cole is just ridiculous though - you'd have a case for Arbeloa on Current form. As I said, undecided on Essien n Masch because they're both beasts. Carvalho is criminally underrated on this forum - he's a very classy player.

Agree I should have said Arbeloa / Insua / Riise / Aurelio is a better combo than chelsea have.

Your inclusion of Cech,Carvalho,Swp,Essien,Vidic,Scholes and Tevez makes me think your on a wind up or you don`t much rate the best young CM in the league or 2 "World class" CM`s and your picking Tevez on the strength of 7 games last season.Your nut`s.

As Rafa might say though, "OK, the best 11 players do not always make the best team, no?"

The difference between Carra and Scholes in my opinion is that Carra wasn't even Sven's 3rd, 4th or 5th choice centre back whereas Scholes was his 3rd choice central midfielder. Carra put up with being played out of position and dropped behind ****e players for YEARS, Scholes lasted what, 6 months?

But all that doesn't really matter because the point is 2007 Paul Scholes wouldn't get anywhere near our first team because he's past it and mediocre at best
