from manu - rooney ronaldo giggs

    ------------pepe-------------
    finnan---carra---agger----arbeloa
    ronaldo--gerrard---masher---giggs
    ----------rooney---torres---------

from chelsea - drogba (spit) SWP j cole essien carvalio(sp)

    ------------pepe-------------
    finnan---carra---carvalio----arbeloa
    SWP--gerrard---essien------- j cole
    ----------drogba---torres---------

    completely unbiased.

pennant is doing brilliantly but ronaldo and SWP will score goals
giggs and j cole are more proven that babel (but that will change)
    essien over masherano
    rooney and drogba over kuyt

other than that I honestly think the rest wouldn't get in our team, either inferior to what we have or would unbalance the team

But where do we stand today?
      • Rooney maybe, not sure he could link up as well as Kuyt. Deffo worse than Torres, he's not as complete as El Nino.
      • Tevez, ditto.
      • Ronaldo, definitely
Saha, Torres leaves him in the dust.
      • Giggs, probably.
      • Scholes would not swap him for Sir Stevie.
      • Vidic, makes too many mistakes to displace Agger.
      • Rio, give me a break.
      • Neville. NFW.
      • Evra, while he's very good on the attacking front. The waiter is a better all round player.
      • Carrick, ha ha ha a poor mans Alonso/Momo/El Jefecito.
      • Hargreaves, ditto.
      • Van der Sar :whatever:
      • Bench, ours kicks theirs into oblivion.

Quite an improvement is it not?
    Am I wrong?
both tevez and rooney could replace kuyt with ease, tevez is already three times the player kuyt will ever be...

Kuyt has scored twice as many goals as Tevez in England in the same time period

I appreciate the notion behind the thread, but the reality is about which group of players is better as a squad and a team, and at this time we're ahead of everyone.

Ronaldo is an outstanding talent, so possibly he stands outside of such an argument on the basis that he'd walk into any team in the world. However as regards everyone else, and therefore the entire collective, I'd take all our players over all their players any day. No question.

Can anyone win the league on luck? No, but they were very fortunate, for example, with injuries last term. As has already been proved, if they lose either of Ronaldo or Rooney for any length of time, they falter against even average opposition. We lose Stevie G and Carra? I don't mind anymore. We're a team. Losing just two players doesn't make a difference to us.

also, hargreaves is as good as sissoko if not better, id also take a fit saha over kuyt, voronin and crouch, sorry but its true as much we dont like to admit it.

also have to say im surprised at how early nanis settled in, i said in the summer i wasnt happy about them gettin him. and hes done quite well for someone thrown into a team that are missing some important players and he seems to have that character a lot of portuguese players have that they are ice cold and take responsibility

anderson is another who will get in in the future

I agree with this you can be 'greater than the sum of your parts' but imho you have to have half a team that are just very good at doing there job week in and week out (true consistancy) and half of the team that are truly gifted and will win you the game out of nothing.
in gh's time there balance was too much towards consistant but not exceptional hence when the **** hit the fan i.e. breaking teams down there wasn't enough spark but away from hoime we were ridiculous hard to break down and the early part of rafa tenure was the reverse now I think we have the right balance

              pure consistancy ------- truly gifted
              pepe
              carra-----------agger
              masherano------gerrard
              kuyt------------torres

that's an amazing spine and imho the best in the prem because it is so balanced

Rooney for Kuyt, Ronaldo and maybe Giggs would make a combined line up. All the others aren't up to scratch IMHO.
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

                  In some aspects.

You're also a bit hopeless at being objective, but i wont hold that against you

i still think Giggs is quality. No where near as explosive as he was a few years ago, but has been intelligent enough to adapt his game to play different roles and different style with the greatest of ease.
Apart from giggs, Ronaldo would be the obvious choice, as much of a **** as he is, when he is flying, he is unstoppable. Rooney, well until we got El Nino, i;d have taken him but El Nino looks the better player.

Also at LB, maybe Evra, he has improved a lot and offers a lot attacking wise. Maybe Aurellio will offer the same bt he does sem injury prone.
                        The rest nah, **** em.

I'm sorry but I think you're demented. Hargreaves is just a scuffler. I'm thrilled Man U paid so much for him. Saha is just ****e too.

As for Nani, he's been rank in every game - a complete headless chicken. He looks just as bad as he did when I saw him play in the U-21 tournament for Portugal. He wouldn't make our bench let alone our team.

Anderson looked nothing special playing for Porto so how you can say on the basis of a terrible 45 minutes when he was hauled off for being crap against the mighty Sunderland that he"will get in in the future" beggars belief. I'm assuming you've outed yourself on here as a scum fan, so thanks for that
