Its difficult to know whether if we'd just left them where they were to play consistently whether they might have developed better. ALT never really has looked like he's developing the strength to play at the highest level, and I like Pongo but lets face it, he's a bit Lua-Lua. Shame, I think they both might turn out to be quite decent in a lesser league, but neither really ever looked like being likely to hold down a consistent first-team place at LFC in future.

Diao was a big letdown as was EHD but with Les Gems we were led to believe they were 2 of the very best young players in the world. They were top scorer & player of the tournament when France won the under 17 World Cup. Lets face it, they've both been well short of the required standard. In short, a massive let down.

They were both very good players, with loads of potential, who instead of being played, were continually sent out on loan etc.
Thats not how you develop someone, by sending them to lower quality leagues.
Rafa has finally got it right, by sending pongo to spain, at least he will play against the best.

Would have preferred to see him in the premier league. but as long as he regularlyplays that willdo for me.
