    Platinis plan!!

    we all know he wants the champions league to revert to something similar to the old european cup and more smaller nation league winners plus domestic cup winners to participate, but what percentage vote does he need to change the current format and what can the G14 syndicate do to stop him?
    Personally i dont think he'l succeed but you never know.

    I hope he doesn't, to be honest, I like watching all the good teams, the ones with the best players. IF they get rid of one team from each of the top leagues, and give it else where, it will make the CL weaker. We won it and in the same season finished 5th. That shows enough about the strength of the top leagues.
    Why is it football has these leaders at the very top who are determined to do things to get their name in the history books. Platini seems to be very set in his ways, although I would expect G14 to start flexing its muscles if he tries to rob their teams of Champions League places. MAybe a G14 European LEague is the way forward.

            G14 are the real power and should the french **** ever get too big for his cowardly boots then they will just up and create their own league.

                    I suspect the G14 won't have to do very much as the FAs of the bigger leagues will always want to have as many teams as possible do as well. As British broadcasters put up the lions share of the TV revenue and the biggest viewing figures are for the final + home nations teams there is no way the TV companies and the FA would allow him to make such a thing fly.

                    FWIW I think some of his goals are laudable but he is yet to come up with a single practicable or genuinely beneficial idea. Considering that the only country with a really strong cup tradition is the UK and almost always the FA cup is won by one of the top four there is no obvious benefit to this way of dishing out places. It might make the top teams in Spain and Italy put out stronger teams in the cup but that isn't really what it is aiming for and if it has the same result as it does here then it is a purely cosmetic change at the European level it is targeted at.

                        I would love to have the old Eurpoean cup, the old Uefa and Cup winners cup.

                        I love the champions league the best teams but i just think that you should be champions to get into it.

                        it wont happen. G14 will threaten a breakaway so next idea MR P
