    Jamie Redknapp

"I think Peter Schmeichel will be a father-figure for Kasper."
Jamie Redknapp (with quite possibly the best quote so far this season - ed).

Don't forget that we PAY to listen to his inane waffling on Sky.

He's a terrible pundit. I say get Louise on there instead!

Why do you say that Howard?

I find him quite good as pundits go. And he always stands up for us.

He stands up for us but he is a rubbish pundit. He's so keen to get involved that he interrupts other pundits, makes random comments, repeats things just said.

It's interesting the Redknapp thing - a number of supporters of other clubs I have spoken to quite like him. I don't think he is much worse than the average standard of Sky/Setanta analyst.

It is odd how crap the analysis is on TV compared with say the Guardian football podcast or the discussion on that Times podcast that was linked to the other day (with the Carra interview).

Andy Gray always supports Villa and Everton. Why shouldn't Redknapp do the same?

Variety. There is too much Villa bias in the media these days.

Worth a laugh of course, but taken in its actual context, not that daft. He was, I think, responding to the question as to whether Peter S would get involved coaching wise etc and repeated what Schmeichel himself had said; effectively,"I'll obviously be there as a dad and offer advice etc in that capacity, but his club have their coaches and I won't interfere with that."
