So in this situation he shouldn't want to play.
Agreed. So I'm sure he'd refuse to play if he thought that was a possibility.

      Exactly

Not bothered if Ingerland don't qualify. Gerrard should be concentrating on getting fit and helping us win No.19.

After all is said and done I think he'll play and won't aggravate his injury and we will have worried about nothing.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Supposedly he trained today without an injection and may not need one for the match.

Could be b*ll*cks though, media spin by the England PR guff-merchants.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

News filtering as I type that Gerrard will be fit. England & Liverpool medical staff have informed MaClown that SG toe is healing well that he might not need an injection.

The PFA say don't inject him, could have long term implications. Obviously, McClown doesn't care about this as it only affects us.

Reports said Hargreaves was injured yesterday.
