theres been a long standing unwritten rule on merseyside that the 2 scum rags go hand in hand. you dont need any boycott to hold your hand and to tell you its alright, cos its not. a lot of us will feel jamie carragher has betrayed and broken the unwritten rule and he will of had the nouse to what he was doing. im gutted that my ex hero chose this path. the boycott in my opinion will now slowly become a farce because you have bascombe and other gob****es spouting off about scouse editors justifying there own cause. no need for any reply back to me, im not interested in anyone elses opinion. this is how i feel nothing will change that.

If Carra has signed up with the NOTW then its a major error of judgement IMO.
The 2 papers in question go hand in hand, theres no difference in them in my book. Quite why players feel the need to write columns in that rag is beyond me, its not as if they need the cash. carra's gone down a notch in my estimation. sad, very sad,AKA Heighway No9

I don't really want to judge Carra too harshly on this - the links between the rag and Notw seem to mean different things to different people, but I would certainly agree it's an error of judgement.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostIf Carra has signed up with the NOTW then its a major error of judgement IMO.

It's so unecessary - Carra has so little to gain from this, which is what makes this even more disappointing. I would say he's let himself down.Last edited by Dhav; 10-09-07, 11:57 PM.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

It may be playground stuff to you but to many LFC its not. To many the NOTW is the same as the S*n and writing in one is the same as writing in the other. If you read any of the boards on other LFC fan sites you'll see how seriously many fans treat this issue.Originally posted by CivicSteve View PostIf the NOTW is something they want to boycott then so be it. Don't buy it. All this 'treason' ****e is playground stuff imo.
Everyones entitled to their view, just as carragher's entitled to write in which ever paper he likes. However, those of us that find his actions deplorable are free to express our anger nad disappointment towards a player who we thought would know better.AKA Heighway No9

steve, we dont have to give a valid reason. for many of us and i suggest you do look around other forums mainly rawk where there is a large community of scousers posting. it goes without saying that the 2 papers share the same dna etc etc. many of us despise the ****rags and it doesent mean we are right but the very least you can do is acknowledge that we have some sort of gripe even if you dont believe the ****rags are connected."People from Liverpool have got something about them and, if they’re not happy about something, they let people know.”

there was in my houseOriginally posted by CivicSteve View PostI suppose my original point was meant to mean that the boycott shouldn't affect our support of the club for the worse. Poor choice of words on my part so apologies
Out of interest, was there such a big reaction when Gerrard did a similar thing?

I've always associated both papers together and was always under the impression that the boycott covered both rags (I'm sure I can remember posters all over Liverpool at the time proclaimimg it). Neither were ever bought by my mum and dad anyway when I was a kid so they both mean nothing to me. I've never read either of them. But I am disappointed with Carra as I was with Gerrard for writing for the News of The Screws.Last edited by Sheik Yerbouti; 11-09-07, 12:39 AM.Sarcasm Is The Lowest Form Of Wit

I voted yes. Whether or not you associate the NOTW with the S*n Carra doesn't need the money. I'm sure he could have gotten a slightly lower but still decent deal at another paper that didn't have such close links to the S*n.
You just know there will be an advert in the S*n saying "tomorrow in the NOTW, read Carra's exclusive blah blah blah".

seeing that headline would really hurt me.
