Thanjk you.

He'll cope the same as he has every other year. It's not like he's just converted this month.
And he'll cope like every other muslim does through Ramadan who live similar lifestyles. I live in the heart of the muslim world and from the friends and people i met in my time here they are actually more nutritioned thru this month than any other time of the year. And for momo - it's not exactly stinking hot in the UK now is it, i think the big man will survive eh!!
How does Mo cope with training and playing during Ramadan? I can see how he can manage without food in the daylight hours, but he's not allowed water in daylight hours either, and that woul be dangerous considering the physical effort required for training and I imagine playing a competitive match would be impossible.
Like most people I know who are supposed to do one thing or another by their religion he probably ignores it. One of my old muslim colleagues used to have his prayer mat out in our stairwell facing Mecca for hs prayers several times a day, but he used to come with me to the betting shop and after every Christmas office drink we had to drive him home and pour him out of the car as he was always off his face. Similarly an old Jewish mate of mine went to the synagogue every week, but confessed that he loved nothing better than a bacon sarnie. I too, as a catholic, always ate meat on Fridays when we were supposed not to (this requirement no longer applies of course). So basically I suppose Momo takes a pragmatic view on supposed religious requirements and the practicalities of being a professional athlete.

ha ha ha, reminds me of the countless number of Arabs still dressed in Dish dash eating and drinking through daylight hours of Ramadan i see in my local hotel every year.

Indeed. I remember the odd juxtaposition of a berobed Arab gentleman mingling with ex-pat westerners when I was staying at the Jumeira Beach Hotel in Dubai. They have a British-style pub there called the Dhow and Anchor (yes really) and this geezer cut a strange figure dressed in head-to-toe white robes, clutching pints of lager and knocking them back with gusto
