If only 3 players then at this time they would be -

Stevie G - Best midfielder in the world.

Torres - Best striker in the world.

One from Reina/Carra/Agger. Cant decide which.

        Definitely Stevie G and Torres.

I would pick Agger over Carra because, much as I love Carra, I don't think he'd be as effective for other teams as he is for us.

His heart is pure LFC, and if he moved I could see him having a dip in form much like God experienced at Leeds and Man City.
A humble guy with healthy desire.

Babel? NO chance I would be bringing him. Maybe in a couple of years he might qualify.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              Horses for courses.

He's more versatile to the squad compared to Torres, not to Torres is crap but if I wanted a winger, he can play there and also as a striker.

Carragher, Gerrard and Mascherano ... would be the absolute backbone of any side in the country. I have no doubt they would replace the existing starters for any side including the likes of Arsenal, United and Chelsea.

Tough call on Reina (has his dodgy moments) and would be a like-for-like replacement when it comes to Van Der Sar and Cech. Torres has the potential to be fenomenal but it's still too soon to tell.

                that'll only make it harder.

tough call on reina (has his dodgy moments) and torres (yet to fully prove himself in the league) but they'd certainly be worth of consideration.

Which is why i edited to add it would be swapping "like-for-like" when it comes to some of the better keepers in the league. Not meant as a dig at Reina, I would rank the other three ahead of him with regard to irreplacability.

only cech comes close imo, a great keeper is harder to find than most other positions. When was our last truly great keeper?

probably agger, gerrard & torres but reina would defo come into consideration if they had a **** keeper.
