Portsmouth away will be very difficult, and I'd hope that Rafa picks his strongest possible side - meaning if they're fit and strong after international duty they'll play.

It's been a difficult place to go over recent years and will be tough again - they'll also be boosted by the pre-season game too, where they held us over the 90 and beat us on penalties.

Rafa will obvously have one eye on the CL game in midweek though, and I do expect him to have a few changes between the two games. I'd like to see Crouch start on Saturday as he needs game time, but other than that, if they're fit they should play, as this will be one of our most difficult games of the league campaign. We're currently top and we want to stay there, so it's a must win game, but a draw wouldn't be a disaster.

That's what I'm expecting to see too!

Torres may be tired but he's only young and should start if fit .
Rest Stevie and Masher on the bench with Yossi, Sami , Crouchy or the Crow.

I'm with you in principle but I think Finnan is injured which means the fullbacks will have to be as AFII has it in all likleyhood. If Gerrard is fit enough to play for England he is fit enough to start for us IMO. We can rest him if/when we have the game won in the second half. It is imperative that we regain the momentum we had before the break and Pompey away is as you have pointed out not a gimme by any means.
