Wasn't there a story sometime recently that we'd offered him a new 3 year deal? Sure I read it......................though I am under some stress at the moment so you know!?!

As has been mentioned before on these forums, would a top professional rather play 40 games out of 60 for a side realistically in with a chance to win all the major trophies, or would you prefer to play all of 40-45 games for an average side?

I know what I would rather do.

load of ****, he's too good for boro and wouldn't go there imo, also i'm pretty sure Rafa wouldn't be letting him go in the summer, why would he balls up our squad when we could be in with a shout of the league

Why would he when he knows we have a great chance to win the EPL this year.
I don't see why anyone would want away from the club at the moment.
I doubt that he want to stay if he only plays 20-25 games in all competitions. If you look at his situation and how many times he has played so far this season then that is more or less the number of games he will play.

That means that he will benched or left out in around 30-35 games. I doubt that he will be happy with that.

He has played in one game in the PL and left out in the other three. Voronin and Kuyt is also a better option to have on the bench. Crouch isn't any good coming off the bench.

So either he plays or he won't even be on the bench. Not exactly a good situation when you consider that he competes with Torres for the striker position.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Crouch won't even be on the bench in 40 games for us this season IMO. So the question is more if he would rather play 20-25 games for us than 40-45 for an average side like Newcastle, Juventus or Man C?

I think it is fair to say Crouch will start at least 15-20 league games.

He will then probably get at least 5 CL games (already played 2).

FA Cup and League Cup games will be his also IMO, so thats another 2 at least, realistically at least 5 games.

So that makes around 30 starts and many more as sub. I think he should be happy with that.

I got this the other day from a guy I know who is very close to the Boro team. He said that there is a deal in place for a loan for Crouch in January to Boro, as long as no major injuries occur up front for us.

highly doubt it but you never know!
Great! that will leave a place available to bring back Heskey

as the season progresses, tiredness sets in and inevitable rotation will happen....Crouch will get his fair share og games as injuries and suspension also will happen inevitably.

Crouch out and a Torres type of player in IMO.
That makes most sense to me and I for one would be happy to see that happen.
Dont get me wrong I like crouch but what AFII proposes makes a great deal of sense to me.
I bet anybody ten quid that Crouch is not a Liverpool player at the start of next season.

That's more probable IMO, than Crouch leaving in january, and could very well happen. BUT I don't think Rafa will want to tinker too much with the squad over the course of the season - it's a bloody good squad.

Crouch did an interview at the start of the year saying he had a chat with Rafa asking what his situation was and the media will always ask him about it when he is not playing regularly.Monster did an interview lastweek saying he understands the rotation and realises how good the other players are in his position and all he can do is work hard, keep his level high and try force his way in.I like that attitude. If you play to a high standard regularly you will be in the team.Look how many players have been bought to compete at RB with Finnan.Finnan kept his head down and his form as consistent as ever and he very rarely gets rotated.
