back to reality with a bump

i think we can count ourselves lucky we got a draw there today so can most people calm down now\and stop acting like its a foregone conclusion that we're gonna win the league. its gonna be a tough season.

beneitez also has to realise to make 5 changes is just to many.

I agree with the point that Rafa cannot make as many changes from game to game. Has he not learnt this yet?

Make 1 or 2 changes yes, but you primarily field your strongest team. Leaving the likes of Gerrard and Torres on the bench is stupidity.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

I'd say start with the best team, get in front and then look at changing but we have the quality to swap two or three players but changing half a team is just too much.

Starting with Gerrard and Torres would have made one hell of a difference today
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

For me, if we have any aspirations to win the league, we need to start at least one of Torres/Kuyt in every game.

            Just my opinion.

Today wasn't a bad result by any means.

We didn't play great and came away with a point.

The Liverpool of last season probably would have lost today.

He looks extremely ordinary when you compare him to a physically challenged turtle at the moment.

Apparently not. Same old bollox, resting half the team 4 games into the season.
Scum and Arsenal had harder away matches, also early starts, played their best sides and won.
Arse top of the table, hope it's not another five years.

If we'd have won today you'd be calling Benitez (or 'beneitez' if you prefer) a tactical genius...

                      I agree.

I like Crouch and he deserves credit for what he's done for us in the past, but he looks second rate when compared to Torres.

                      No movement.
                      No pace.
                      No great presence.

He has great technique and a good touch but when that deserts him, as it did today, he really doesn't have anything else to offer.

It amazes me how static he is at times. He looked like a statue up front at times today.
A humble guy with healthy desire.

Spot on mate, I love Rafa but how flaming obvious is it that we needed to start with stevie and Torres today? (and every game possible).
We have a lot to look forward to and thats down, in the main, to Rafa but lets not blind ourselves to the fact that he does make rather annoying decisions at times, today being one of them! Resting star players 4 fricking games in doesnt make sense to me.

Lucky?? They had one miss from a good chance in the second half. That apart, Reina's only proper save was from the penalty.

We missed a couple of very decent chances too.

I don't know where you get the notion that people think it's a foregone conclusion we're going to win the league. I haven't heard a single person say as much.

And thanks for your views on team selection poicy but on the whole I'd rather have Benitez's ideas implemented than yours
