Thanjk you.

I think we argued because with the exception of Arbeloa, nobody knew what it had been given for.
The difference between our players reaction yesterday and the reaction of particulary Chelsea players to date is that they will react against a decision when they know what it is for and why exactly it has been given. I think our players were totally unaware of why the decision has been made.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!
Crooks is a poor excuse for a pundit but today he was right in that it was a penalty. Sure we argued but not OTT in my book.
The problem with that is that if the ref gives a penalty for a shirt pulling like that then there would be 10+ penalties in every game. He would need to give a penalty after more or less every corner.
So it was a penalty but it shouldn't have been given.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

It was a blatant shirt pull and the penalty decision was probably right, however as has already been said if you are going to give the pen for it then you need to give it every time and that obviously doesn't happen it just depends on the ref on the day and how he feels, and that's obviously the wrong way to try and make an example. If a player knows a pen is only going to be given for that type of foul maybe 1 in 10 times then he'll carry on doing it and it's not going to change anything. Funny how Arbeloa gets picked on and he's only been here 6 months but Terry who's been doing it for years gets away with it every time. No consistency and thats the main problem here

That was never a penalty. If it WAS a pen, then I expect to see 15 penalties given in every game. It was so "not a penalty" that not one single Pompey player even appealed for it.
Apparently the PL and Football League sent out some kind of info to all clubs saying that shirt pulls in the box will now result in a pen. If that's the case we're the first to fall victim to it, but as I said earlier, I now expect to see at least 10 pens every game.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
When my mate was 15 or 16 he was stood at the urinals at Leeds football ground when he felt someone staring at him. He looked to his side to find Garth Crooks staring at his penis. Garth wasn't even pissing, he was just stood there looking at my mates cock.
2 - It was a pen, no question, he nearly ripped the shirt off him
3 - The players kicked off because there was no way they could see arbeloa grabbing his shirt from the angle. The only person who could was the linesman, who correctly awarded a penalty

He talks like a clayhead desperately trying to be posh...
"It is entirely possible, is it not, that one could have grarsped his shirt thus fouling him within the confines of the 18 yardage area, thereby creating a situation from which the official could not avoid the award of a penalty... me duck."
