He needs to learn NOW, otherwise forget the title.
Rafa won't change, you have to accept that. He's sticking to his guns, no matter what you or I say. We were good enough to win at Portsmouth today, even without Torres or Gerrard. We just didn't play well.

Why can't we criticise Rafa? How are we meant to progress if Rafa is deemed above criticism?

That's just bollocks. The day he escapes criticism is the day we win 38 league games a season
Playing Gerrard and Torres guarantees a win each time ? We would have felt worse if we'd lost or drawn with both these players today. We just didn't play well for some valid reasons, such as international matches etc ...

THAT's the point. We didnt play well, you're right...that's why you need to start matchwinners, cos they produce winners when you dont play well, or when it looks unlikely - Stevie at Villa?

That adds nothing to the discussion I'm having with you fredo.

You're saying criticism of Rafa sickens you. I'm saying criticism of Rafa is perfectly valid when he ****s up, which, in many people's opinion, he did today.
Playing Torres and Gerrard doesn't guarentee you a win, of course not, but playing a weakened team in the Prem is ****ing retarded if you ask me. Play a weakened team in the CL but not the Premiership against a team which is difficult to beat.

If he won't change it, he won't win it. Simple as.

We were good enough?! They missed a pen and had the 2 biggest chances of the match. Wtf is this - The Twilight Zone? We were not good enough. Hence the 2 points dropped!

Of course Gerrard and Torres would have increased the chances of a win if they had started. What do you think the impact would have been if you took 'hit n run' Momo and Crouchy out of the equation and threw in Torres and Gerrard from the start?

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

                FFS !

Why did he **** up ? For fielding a good enough side to win today ? Crouch was a match winner last year, Voronin was one a couple of weeks ago, as is Xabi Alonso ! If you can't see where I'm going, then sorry it's pointless continuing the discussion.

At the end of the day, we don't ****ing have a clue at which fitness levels were the players before this match as I'm sure Rafa would have played both Gerrard and Torres hadn't it been for international matches.

We should have been good enough to win that game, but we didn't. Move on, we're only 2 points off the pace.

Sorry, we didn't play well but we were 'on paper' good enough.

For me, you rest players for home games against weak sides. Not for Pompey away. Voronin played for Ukraine, Kuyt didnt play this week. My problem with what Rafa did was that I believe he was resting players for Tuesday. I think if you'd ask Reds fans, most would prefer we make the League our priority, so why do this? Scum, Arse put strong teams out for away games and won, so Rafa made a mistake and we dropped 2 points. Pompey were not that good today and we were lucky not to lose.

Man United lost there last season and won the title.

                            Bollocks.

                            Two points dropped today.

Rafa should have started with Torres and Gerrard. We looked a different side when our two best players came on, obv.

I am genuinely worried that Rafa STILL wants to win in Europe more than the Premiership.

In my opinion we could go to Porto without Gerrard and Torres and still get a result.

They both should have started today. Tired or otherwise.
