So fecking what? He gets lots of praise when he does well, and is rightly being criticised for cocking up today.

Are you fecking Montse or something??!

Their's far to much negativity on here for my liking ffs, we've only played a few games and already the doom and gloom merchants are on their high horse ffs people, get a grip, were second in the prem, about to start the Champions League and have the best sqaud we've had for years, so, lets get behind Rafa and show him we have faith in him and his players

BTW, this only applies to the odd few doubters
        What fecking high horse? :whatever:

I'm saying we should've picked our strongest side because Pompey away isnt a game where you rest players.

I know we cant win every game and that's fine, but when we drop points UNNECESSARILY, it really fecks me off.

Today we dropped points due to a stupid reason and the manager is to blame, whether you like it or not.

Why is it ok to lick Rafa's rear end when he does well, but not ok to say when he gets it wrong?

It's not about drawing mate, it's that fact that it was a CHEAP draw. No need to have dropped those points, but we did. I know we will drop points but today, we gave the 2 points away with our pedestrian team selection.

Absolute waste and i'm totally fecked off about it.

              Some perspective from Harry Redknapp:

but after being the first manager to see all big four at close quarters, Redknapp is in no doubt where the title is heading. 'If I had to pick a champion, I'd pick Man United,' he said.

Teams like Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal would have struck when the iron was hot as it were, we had em on the rops big style, just needed someone to deliver the knockout punch.
Dont like singling out individuals but for me the midfielders for us weren't at the races...
Alonso was very poor, i expect alot more from him and he can't have the old excuse of being tired as he barely played for Spain during the week as a result of a early red in there first match.
Pennant never looked anywhere near as threatening as he did against Sunderland and Derby. Momo was his usual busy yet frustrating self. Benayoun showed nice touches at times but he got knocked off the ball on so many occasions. In and out of the game, needs to sharpen up.

**** off! How many teams have put that many past Pompey??

the team that Rafa put out was easily capable of beating Pompey, they just didnt perform on the day.

It's a dead issue mate, some people just won't understand that **** happens. We were lethargic yesterday and during the last 15 minutes or so we stopped controlling the game due to fatigue.

Pompey have a very small stadium and it's very very difficult getting something there. We needed to be on tip top form, and we obviously weren't. Even without Stevie and Torres, we would have won that game on another day.

What disappointed me was the poor performances of some players. Crouch, Benayoun, Momo and even the Crow should of been champing at the bit to perform in this game and they didnt take their chance.

Rafa now knows his best 11 IMO and no one can argue with him until they perform better when their opportunities come along. Even one of my favourite players, Xabi, needs to buck up or he will lose his starting spot to Masher if he hasnt already.

As for result it was what we deserved, but if the players selected performed any where near their capabilities we would of won.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

We should be beating Pompey, if we have serious title aspirations.

Had we actually started with our best players, i've no doubt we would've won.

Torres & Gerrard did more in their respective cameos than everyone else put together. Had they played for an hour each, i'm convinced we'd have won.

You dont rotate for games away at Pompey, it's idiotic.
I don't see anything wrong with what DJS is saying here. How is he being negative by criticising Rafa's foolish team selection? It's all well and good rotating but Rafa over does it and most people here, if they're honest with themselves, know it. Ferguson and Mourinho don't rotate 3-4 players per game and they certainly don't 'rest' their best players for difficult games like Portsmouth away. Why not rest Gerrard and Torres against Birmingham at home instead? Are we expected to believe that Gerrard and Torres wouldn't be able to have coped with playing yesterday as well as the CL game? Well, I don't buy it.

Essentially, drawing away at Portsmouth isn't a bad result but it's not a great result either and after watching the game yesterday, the frustrating thing is that had Rafa not gone over the top with his obsession with rotation then we would be top of the league right now.

I love Rafa but he's not immune from criticism and that's just the way it should be. He's not a god and if the likes of Carra and Gerrard can get criticised on here then so can Rafa.

It's still a good (not great) start to the season but we won't win the league unless Rafa gets a little smarter with his rotation policy.

I thought the crow and Benayoun did alright whereas Crouch and Momo were crap.

The point is not did we drop points today or not. The point is that, if we keep resting our best players away from home againts pretty decent home teams like Pompey, we will continue dropping points. And then in end of the season we will not have enough points to win the title.

These are the games where you either win the title or lose it. Man Utd and Chelsea usually win these kind of games by one goal. A goal usually scored by one of their regular match winners, Lampard, Drogba, Rooney, Ronaldo.

We left two of our regular match winners on the bench yesterday and came home with one point. I believe, that would Gerrard and Torres started the game, we would have had enough quality to score that one goal to get three points.

Not one player in the starting eleven had played a full 90 minutes for their international side midweek. This is the reason why we were able to put on a good strong display and control the game for the most part.

Rafa could have played his so called best players and they could have played ****e and got beat, like a hell of a lot of teams will get beat when they go to portsmouth this season. We were not far away from getting the win anyway that our performance probably deserved over the 90 minutes.

Well played lads and well done rafa.

these players should have been sweating blood yesterday trying to make the bench for future games. they are not first choice and need to stop ****in mouthing off to the press or maybe fairer tell their respective agents to shut to **** up...

this was their chance to shine today...

bottom line is portsmouth are not a bad side, good manager, talented players. we did not perform and were lucky pepe saved us in the end.

one more thing........... WE WILL WIN THE LEAGUE
