It wouldn't have been as disappointing IF Rafa had gone for the points, but he seemed to tamely surrender the points with his team selection and that isn't the mentality of champions.

I reserve the right to be pissed off by this especially when our rivals gain points on us as a result of this.

I'm not trying to get into a debate here, but how do you know that? 'He seemed to tamely surrender' is an insult to the manager, I'd rather say the players on the pitch should have done the job and they didn't turn up, Crouch lost possession so many times I stopped counting, Yossi tried but failed etc. and Portsmouth play some good tight stuff at home. They're no walkovers.

I'd just say 'bad luck', you can't always play your best 11, you need to rotate, not only for match sharpness and physical but also mental and motivational aspects. And Rafa is doing a lot of work as we could see in his post-match interview, he looked seriously drained. So cut the guy some slack man and stop bitching about every little hickup along the way. Just my tuppence worth, we can sit here and bitch all we like, Rafa's the man at the helm.

Well he SEEMED to tamely surrender to me by picking that team. This is the premiership, no team is going to turn up and give you 3 points. you have to pick your strongest line-up most of the time if you want to win.
As many people have pointed out, Rafa chose to rotate for this match. There are many more appropriate games to pick weakened sides, Birmingham at home is one such game. Portsmouth away is going to be a tough game but as the better team it is a game we are capable of winning. If you chuck a few squad players at it then you aren't going to win.
The inescapable conclusion, from where I'm sitting, is that Rafa is putting much more importance on Parto away than he did on Portsmouth away. That is unacceptable in my opinion, he has repeatedly said he is prioritising the league. Well Rafa, actions speak louder than words and your actions indicate you are prioritiseing "europe" ( ) again.

I've never once seen or read anything where Rafa has said that

I haven't seen him say anything like that before I've always thought he said we are looking to win every competition we enter.
