    can lose players of the calibre of Alonso and Sissoko to injury, and know they've still got the best central midfield in the world

      This may actually be the perfect time for Mascherano to put himslef forward as the preferred midfield partner to SG....

          Newcastle. They've got talented manager who was creative tactics which don't need midfielders.
