    Bars in Hook near Reading

Right then, I am away on a course in Hook near Reading, the question is....where the hell would you watch the match in such a place, recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers...

There's not many bars in Hook mate, it's a bit stuck out in the country side and only really has a few country pubs.

Depending on whether you want to drink or drive - Best bet is to go into Reading or Basingstoke (both equidistance from Hook). Hartley Whitney is another place not too far away but not much doing there. Farnham (where I live) is 8 miles from Hook and has a Slug & Lettuce with all the games on.

    Does that help??

Actually, looking at multimap - I forgot Fleet. Go there, will only cost £10 or so in a taxi.

Cheap drinks, lots of bars, no trouble, nice girls, and places to watch the game. Yup, that's what I'd do.

I live in Fleet. The high street might be awkward as there's the Chavs on as well. You could try the Sports Bar in Albert Street (which runs behind the high street) or The Links Hotel (next to Fleet Station) - that's always a fairly safe bet and big enough that you won't struggle to get a view.

Personally I'll be in The Wyvern which is about a 2 miles out of the town centre but will probably show both games.

BTW - If you want to save the cab fair and stay in Hook The Old White Hart is your safest bet.
What have I learned, Mr Mackay? Three things. One - bide your time. Two - keep your nose clean. And three - don't let the *******s grind you down
